Savages Win!!

Posted by Dennis Fredrickson at Sep 19, 2009 10:35AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Good morning Savages!

A great victory last night…

After a slow 1st quarter, our iron men kicked into gear and beat a very good Cascade team 44 – 18.

I was very proud of our Senior leadership, and by the break-out game played by our "Big Kid".

Council game week begins tomorrow… After their victory against Tri-Valley 36-24 they will be fired up for us. Council is big and tough… exactly the type of opponent we like!! Should be a heck of a game. How about the Savage faithful plan a pre-game tailgate before the game?? No sence in leaving any more money in Council than is absolutely necessary! Just a suggestion!!

Game time is 7pm, at Council. See you all there!!

Season Review....

Posted by Dennis Fredrickson at Sep 13, 2009 4:07PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Good Evening Savages!

Thank you all for the terrific support on our homecoming game last Friday night. Thank you also for all of the work put into the anual "Pig Feed".

Special kudo’s to our staff and Boosters for feeding the Colton team and staff after the game. It really shows how classy our school and community are.

This season has presented some adversity as key injuries have bit us. I believe it has been a blessing in disguise… all of our younger, inexperienced players have stepped up and been very productive for us. This added depth is going to be critical for us as we work towards our State Championship.

As nice as it would be to be undefeated… we are going to be a much better team because of these two losses.

The Colton game was a true illustration of where we are at. We can compete with anyone in the State – even with the two best running backs/linebackers in 8-man ball, standing on the sidelines. We will be focusing on maintaining our fundamentals and getting our kids ready for league play in a few weeks.

I am very impressed – and pleased – with the progress of our line. They have made gigantic progress since the Lacrosse/Washtucna game. This is such a key group for us this year… without their hard work and dedication, a state title is out of the question… great job boys!!

Cascade comes to town this Friday. They have been putting up alot of points this year, and should be alot tougher opponent than in the previous few years. God willing, we should have all 12 of our "Iron Men" available for that game… should be fun!!
